ACCESS Summer Camp

May 27-29, 2020

ACCESS Summer Camp is designed for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and is held each year for a small number of campers that could be good candidates for ACCESS. It is a special 3-day event in which campers are able to experience life as an ACCESS student by participating in various activities on and off campus such as attending an ACCESS course, dining in the MSU cafeterias, residing in a residence hall, preparing meals, and navigating the S.M.A.R.T. bus routes and the MSU campus. Camp also offers staff members an extended amount of time to work with campers and observe their skills. Upon completion of camp, families are provided a detailed report on how the camper’s skills match with incoming freshmen in ACCESS.

We strive to host students and parents who are motivated to learn more about ACCESS and are interested in applying to ACCESS in the upcoming fall. The application must be completed by the camp applicant's parent or legal guardian. The completion of an application does not guarantee admittance to summer camp. The deadline to complete the online application and submit all required documentation is March 15, 2020.

If your applicant is selected for camp, there will be a $300 camp fee that must be paid by April 15, 2020. Applicants will be notified of acceptance status by April 1, 2020. Please do not send money until your camper has officially been accepted to camp. Please note that at least one parent or guardian will be required to remain in Starkville for the duration of summer camp.

After submitting the online summer camp application, please collect the following documents and mail them in one packet to ACCESS on or before the deadline of March 15, 2020. All documents must be received prior to review of application.
